How Smart Add works

Smart Add questions

What is Smart Add?

Smart Add is a feature in Hive, the AI home inspection software, that adds a comment to an inspection report from a plain-language description. The inspector types what they found in the Hive mobile app, and Smart Add searches every comment in the report and shows the closest matches with a match score. If none fits, it drafts a new comment with Hive Comment Assist and places it in the right section and subsection, so the inspector does not have to leave the screen they are on.

What should I type?

A sentence or two, in plain words. Say whether it is an information note, a limitation or a defect, and name the area or system if you know it, for example "Defect in the main bathroom, the GFCI outlet does not trip when tested". The more specific the description, the better the match.

Where is Smart Add available?

In the Hive mobile app report editor, from the sections list, inside a section and inside a subsection. It needs an internet connection and is not shown on re-inspection reports.

Does Smart Add cost extra?

No. Smart Add, like every AI tool in Hive, is included on every plan with no usage cap.
